Football Recap: Denver Edge Hapless Jets in Defensive Affair

During a defensive struggle on Sunday, the Denver Broncos clinched a 13-11 win over the winless New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix threw an early scoring strike and specialist Wil Lutz provided the game-winning decisive three-pointer to seal the ugly win.

Despite registering nine sacks versus Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after giving up a two-point play in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets managed a mere 82 offensive yards throughout the contest.

Nix, who completed 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, engineered a critical 12-play, 65-yard drive that ended with Lutz's short kick with approximately five minutes left.

Record Difficulties for Jets Offense

Despite their horrendous performance, the Jets maintained the ball with a chance to score a potential victory. But Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 after head coach Aaron Glenn chose to attempt the conversion rather than calling on specialist Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

The Jets quarterback had difficulties throughout, completing just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. New York finished with minus-10 passing yards, the lowest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," the coach commented following the game.
