A two-month cruise around Australia was terminated following the tragic passing of an elderly female passenger who was abandoned by the ship on a distant coastal location.

The passenger had been walking on the tropical location with fellow passengers from the vessel, but broke off from the excursion for a break. The vessel sailed away leaving her and went back after some time after the ship staff became aware the passenger was not present.

A major hunt found her body the following day.

Authorities are looking into the event, alongside police and the medical examiner.
